Scott P. Smith

Scott has over 40 years of construction experience.  He learned to work on his Grandfather’s ranch building barbed-wire fences to contain range cattle.  The fences were 7′ tall and had 9 strands of barbed-wire. The local ranchers used to ask if he was trying to keep the mosquitoes from cross breeding.

Scott began his career in construction as a carpenter and has experience in various trades including concrete work, masonry, rough carpentry and cabinetmaking. Since graduating from Brigham Young University in Construction Management he has held positions in estimating and project management.

Scott’s experience includes Commercial and Medical Office Space, Retail Space, Restaurants, Hospitals, Schools, Sports Facilities, Correctional Facilities, Manufacturing Facilities and Municipal Water and Wastewater Facilities. His skills include conceptual estimating, analyzing proposals, negotiating subcontracts, monitoring construction costs, preparing and maintaining construction schedules, and working with architects, engineers, and owners to achieve cost savings and expedite schedules. Scott P. Smith is the president of and owner of Smith Construction.
